Straight out of the archives, circa 2018. This is one of my earliest drone recordings, very raw, very lo-fi. Had no idea what I was doing, just liked the idea of using one instrument for a recordings. My earliest experiences recording any music ideas. I wanted to try all kinds of styles and genres to see what I liked and what clicked for me.

I tried house music, folk, metal, singer/songwriter stuff, more traditional "electronic" music; anything I liked, I would try. I eventually landed on experimental music. I looked up to musicians like Prince, Trent Reznor and Jack White growing up, I really liked their methodology and "play every instrument" style, and wanted to try doing that for myself.

I'm proud of this little EP, it's a cool time capsule of a period I would say there are only a handful of tracks from any of the other genres I tried I can say that for. I'll do another deep dive into my vault and see what would be worth putting out.

I recorded this EP on a drone synth built by Matt Christensen of Zelienople+his own solo output. Thanks Matt! Perhaps I'll do a tape of this?
